This photo is of Paulina and 2 of her 4 grandchildren. The 3rd was too busy playing in the river behind her house to join us for the photo. Her 4th grandchild, she had to give away because she was too poor to care for 4 children.
Many children that live in orphanages HAVE family that want to care for them, but are too poor to do so.
I'm so blessed to be part of a ministry that helps prevent orphans by caring for children like Paulina's grandbabies by giving them food, school supplies, water and the love of God in an after school program.
Now that VisionTrust has a ministry in Paulina's community in Cotui, Dominican Republic, she is able to care for her remaining 3 grandchildren. With the help of sponsors, VisionTrust supplies the needs of children like these, lifting a weight off the shoulders of women like Paulina, and enabling them to stay together.
