WOW! Is the one word that everyone says when they enter our new computer lab and library. Thanks to a special donation from VisionTrust, the president of the Dominican Republic, and Carol Morgan School, Grace School - Herrera now has a “semi-state of the art” Computer Lab and Library!
How did it happen? In August 2006, a small team of Microsoft Engineers came with VisionTrust to install 20 donated computers in the former 8th grade classroom. In early, March 2007, some students from Carol Morgan, a private school in Santo Domingo, came and set up bookshelves, artwork and educational posters in the old 4th grade classroom. They

donated reading materials, dictionaries, Bibles and Encyclopedias. This is now our library. Also, Eric’s 1st graders from last year (see December postings) came to visit our school, and wrote letters to the President of the Dominican Republic, asking for assistance for our school. This year also in early March, 10 more top-of-the-line DELL computers were installed in our school by the government: 6 in the computer lab and 4 in the new library!
Who is using it? All students from Pre-school to 9th grade are taking computer classes in our new computer lab. As of right now, the library is being used for homework and studying purposes by our older students. It is our hope to eventually have a library class for all ages as well!
